Paulette Pearson
Paulette Pearson Studio is based in Dallas, Texas.
Paulette works primarily in colored pencil. Known for detailed, atmospheric drawings that blend classical elegance with a modern, quietly wry sensibility, she creates figurative and narrative illustrations shaped by ongoing studies in French language, travel and European material culture. Her work often explores the subtle dialogue between past and present—whether through a museum-inspired vignette, a moment of understated emotion, or an Old Hollywood icon seen anew.
Paulette’s love of drawing began in childhood, encouraged by a grandmother who kept her supplied with colored-pencil sets and unwavering belief. Today, you’re likely to find Paulette sketching late into the night with her rescue dog, Zooey, by her side and a Grace Kelly movie playing in the background. Though she went on to earn a law degree, a master’s in journalism, and build a career as a magazine editor, she’s always been happiest at the drawing board, surrounded by shoeboxes full of art supplies.
Her illustrations have been featured in Texas Monthly and Luxe Interiors & Design, included in exhibitions in Texas, and are held in private collections across the United States and Europe. Most recently, select pieces were displayed at the Princess Grace Irish Library in Monaco—an honor that reflects Paulette’s enduring love of Old Hollywood and the stories that shaped her artistic imagination.
